The month of May is devoted to Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary. This Sunday, May 6th after the 10:30 Mass, there will be a Marian procession. At the end of the procession, the May crowning will take place in the church where a month-long shrine will be in place for private devotions and prayers. A member of the First Communion Class of 2012 will crown Mary. We encourage all parishioners to make use of the shrine. Vases will be available for fresh flowers to be given in Mary's honor.
Eucharistic Adoration is the devotion and worship of Jesus Christ truly present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Blessed Sacrament. It is a continuation and prolongation of what happens at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, we are privileged to adore Jesus in our St. Joseph's Adoration Chapel which is open from Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to midnight.
Exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament stimulates us to a deeper awareness of the presence of Christ. During Adoration, the adorer is given time for eucharistic meditation through prayers, reading of Holy Scripture, and gazing at the Blessed Sacrament.
