Our parish will be participating in the Gradual Implementation of the New Mass Translations starting Sunday, September 4th. At the spring assembly of the USCCB, permission was granted for a gradual implementation of the people's parts. This permission is given only if parishes sing the Mass parts
The spoken parts will be in universal use in the English-speaking world on the first Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011.
The plan adopted by our diocese is as follows:
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will be using Dr. Richard Rice's English Mass along with the ICEL chants for the dialogues and the Memorial Acclamations.
To aid parishioners, the time before Masses will be used to practice the chants. In addition, we will make available practice files here on our website.
